The end of First Batxillerat!

Calvin Harris - Summer

Course assessment

Hi teacher!

The school will finish soon and first of all I have to say THANK YOU for all the things that you taught me in this year. I learnt a lot of vocabulary and that's great! I didn't expect that I would learn or understand the grammar and I do it, more or less..

What I've learned this year?

* I learnt a lot of vocabulary and expressions. I love learn something new because it's good for your grammar and the language.

* I understand the grammar and use the verbs with the correct form, but I have to improve them the next year.

* I have to improve my writings

* I have to improve my pronunciation and I know that the best way is watching films and listening music in english.

* The next year I will improve my writings and  pronunciation.

Opinion of this year?

I enjoyed a lot and I hope that the next year I enjoy it too and I would improve my problems with the subject.

Thanks you again!

INTERVIEW TO MALALA YOUSAFZAI

Awa Traore and I decided to interview to Malala, the young
girl who was shot in the head by the talibans and who won the Nobel
Prize in 2014.
Malala Yousafzai works for freedom of the girls and the education,
and she has a fundation called Malala where she helps the young
people.

Questions:

- How old you were when you started to write about what you thought about education?
- What did you want to be?
- What are you talking about on the blog that you wrote for the BBC Urdu?
- Who gave you the idea to write an anonymous blog criticizing the situation you were in? You think that was a good idea?
- Who received death threats in your family?
- Do you think that after the brutal attack people did something to improve education in Pakistan?
- What do you think that it increased the desire to kill you for the Talibans?
- What is your objective with your foundation "The Malala foundation"?
- Where have you been worked the past year?
- In which countries you have projects to promote the education?

Opinion:

Things to improve:

* The vocabulary and the pronunciation of the words.
* Control of the nerves.

Good things:

* We didn't read because we worked so much with the interview and we were a lot of time doing the questions and the answers.

If I have to put a mark of our presentation I would put a 7.5!

BEGIN AGAIN - EMAIL

Hi Charlie,
It was great to hear from you. Sorry for not writing earlier but I've been really busy.
Last month was GREAT! Do you know that I'm in New York? Yes, I'm in New York!
I'll summarise what happened to me last month.

Dave and I decided to go to New York to follow our dream to be singers. Dave has singned with an important label which will make him famous. When we arrived to New York, he went to L.A with the company to start to work with the company. When he came to New York, he told me that he had a new girl, Mimi, one of the girls that we met last week. That was horrible for me! You know me. When he told me that, I caught my things and I went to Steve's home. That night we went to a local bar where Steve worked every night. Steve "forced" me to come on stage and I did. I sang one of my songs "A step you can't take back". And guess what? There was an A&R,Dan, who was looking fot a new talent.  started to work with him and we released my first album! But it isn't the only new news, I come back with Dave and I'm so happy.

As you can see, this month has been fukk! I am waiting for your email, my girl!

All the best,

Dienabou

Discussion essay 3 - How I met my bestfriend

I met my childhood best friend Charlie, when I was 8 years old. We were living in the same town since 7 years. We were almost the same years (she's two years bigger than me), so we played togheter, we had the same interests (we love the music), we enjoyed each other's company.

Actually, Charlie lives in Paris with her mother and big brother. She's 21, she studies law at the most popular university in Paris and I'm so proud of what she makes. She s beautiful girl both inside and outside. She's cheerful, outgoing and lovely. We love music and reading books of Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King, because we love them. In summer, the sundays, we closed the room and we read books. I know that can sound boring but when you are with your best friend, these sundays can be the best!

Every summer, she comes to my house for 2 months. Last year I went to Africa so she didn't come to my house, but in December she visited us to spent the Christmas holidays togheter. That was great!

Discussion essay 2 - Being a mom is great

Everybody knows our mother's value, the sacrifice, the energy, the effort that mothers do for their children. They will always be with her children and take care of them. Mother is always a blessing, but be mother is great?

On the one hand, being a mother means responsibility the 24/7, losing big part of your social life taking care of your sons, strain you the double.. So you have to change your life when you have a baby, you will never be the same women. You will have many things that will want to do but that you can't because you've a children. In this respect, then, it could be argued that being a mom is not great.

On the other hand, being a other means to grow, mature, being happy, a blessing... Mother is a definition of love, when you are a mother, all your world change, your mentality, your kind of looking, YOUR LIFE CHANGES! Now you've a little children who comes to the world for being part of you. You will be his teacher, his mother, his best friend... Being mother is wonderful!

In my opinion, being a mother is beautiful because it is part of you, he or she has been living inside of you for months. It's really incredible! So, you lose part of our life but you win a big gift!

Discussion essay 1 - Violence on TV makes people violent

Television is one of the greatest inventions of the 20 century. However, its effects on our society have been both positive and negative. Nowadays, on TV we have many entertainment programs, but also violent programs. The question is,how can effect people watching violent programs on television?

On the one hand, violent programs can be seen as didactic purpose programs. In these programs, we can see how bad it is violence and how far we can take if we don't change quickly.
In this respect, then, it could be argued that violence on TV doesn't makes people violent.

On the other hand, these programs can be sometimes go too far in what they show, even kicking or insult people, stealing money, spitting at people on the street... These and characters can be negative role model for children and the younger. In fact, some teenagers can imitate and reproduce these actions that they watch on TV, and end up being just as violent as those of TV.

In my opinion, violent programs are in the end, simple programs but with violence. However, we must be careful of how these actions can effect our lives and the young.

Opinion essay 2

THE SOCIETY VS THE POLITICIANS

Recently, Spain is in a very serious economic crisis. All the media talk about it. And just society blames a group of people who are responsible for keeping the country afloat, the government.
First of all, in my view, the political don’t keep their promise of help us live calmly in our house and give us a decent job. As a consequence, the population has been without employment and house. Therefore, I think that the government have to keep their promise and give us what we need.
Secondly, the corruption is very linked to the policy. As I see it, they are involved in many cases of corruption. The politicians spend a lot of our money for theirs personals pleasures. For this reason, I believe that they have to do something to get us out of this economic crisis.

To sum up, the politicians are the only guilty of this crisis and we need a politician who works for us and not for him and his family.

Opinon essay 1

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN OUR MODERN LIFESTYLE AND PHYSICAL INACTIVITY

One of the biggest changes that the world has experienced is the new technology and his impact on our lives. Nowadays, we are dependent on the technology, for example, if we want to eat, we’ve an app to buy food. In my opinion, we all are less active because of our modern lifestyle. But we can not make better our modern lifestyle?

First of all, in my view, society has simplified things a lot, for example, since we have internet, we don’t walk to the shops. Therefore, I think the society should teach us to make good use of the new technologies and do more to promote sports and exercise.

Secondly, the leisure time after the high school is also a big problem. As I see it, many people have much leisure time. After the school, they don’t have nothing to do, and they lie down on the sofa to watch TV or play console. For this reason, I feel that the schools and governments should do more extracurricular activities for these children who don’t have nothing to do after school.

It’s clear that our modern lifestyle affects our physical inactivity. I know that we can do something to change our bad habits, but we also need the Government and schools to help us to maintain a healthy and active way of life.

Describe a place you enjoy

VELINGARA, SENEGAL

Velingara is a city on the south-west of Senegal. Located to 11 hours drive from Dakar, the capital of Senegal. It’s my favourite place because it is a city where I can be free, in peace and with all my family.
Velingara has a charming residents, and beautiful buildings.Among these is the city where has one of the most important mosque of Senegal. This magnific city has a lot of things that the others cities in Senegal don’t have, such as, a school. The others cities near Velingara, have to come there to study. In Velingara, we have an huge school with an  orphenage for the children who don’t have parents and that’s very important for me,because I spent  a lot of . my time with them and it was an huge experience for me.
The city has a big market where the women  go to shopping with her daughters, there are a lot of things that  the women need for cook  and the daughters for going to school. There are  also narrow lanes full of shops that are always the tourists taking photos.
I have chosen Velingara, because is the only place of the world where I’m feel really home. Although I have been born in Spain, there is a very strong bow that joins me with Senegal. When I am there, I’m feel safe, good, happy….

There I don’t need be connected with the world, I don’t need watch TV or something like that, I only need be happy with myself.

FINAL MARK: 7.5

I think that my other presentation was better than this.

My favourite song!

The lyrics:
[Chorus - John Legend:]
One day when the glory comes
It will be ours, it will be ours
One day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory

[Common:]
Hands to the Heavens, no man, no weapon
Formed against, yes glory is destined
Every day women and men become legends
Sins that go against our skin become blessings
The movement is a rhythm to us
Freedom is like religion to us
Justice is juxtapositionin' us
Justice for all just ain't specific enough
One son died, his spirit is revisitin' us
Truant livin' livin' in us, resistance is us
That's why Rosa sat on the bus
That's why we walk through Ferguson with our hands up
When it go down we woman and man up
They say, "Stay down", and we stand up
Shots, we on the ground, the camera panned up
King pointed to the mountain top and we ran up

[Chorus]

[John Legend:]
Now the war is not over, victory isn't won
And we'll fight on to the finish, then when it's all done
We'll cry glory, oh glory
We'll cry glory, oh glory

[Common:]
Selma is now for every man, woman and child
Even Jesus got his crown in front of a crowd
They marched with the torch, we gon' run with it now
Never look back, we done gone hundreds of miles
From dark roads he rose, to become a hero
Facin' the league of justice, his power was the people
Enemy is lethal, a king became regal
Saw the face of Jim Crow under a bald eagle
The biggest weapon is to stay peaceful
We sing, our music is the cuts that we bleed through
Somewhere in the dream we had an epiphany
Now we right the wrongs in history
No one can win the war individually
It takes the wisdom of the elders and young people's energy
Welcome to the story we call victory
Comin' of the Lord, my eyes have seen the glory

[Chorus]

[John Legend:]
When the war is done, when it's all said and done
We'll cry glory, oh glory
